Schleswig Holstein’s 27th Musik Festival kicks off yet another season with 138 concerts, 5 ‘music festivals in the country’ and 2 childrens’ music festivals, in 77 different locations throughout the state of Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, the state of Lower-Saxony, and Denmark.
Starting today, July 7 until August 25, Northern Germany’s music lovers can feast their senses once again on a cluster of world class performances on beaches, in churches, in castles and parks as well as music halls.

This year’s festival is dedicated to the “Year of the Dragon” with focus on China. Large Chinese orchestras such as the China National Centre For Performing Arts Orchestra will present themselves, as will a host of other outstanding Asian stars. Chinese star pianist Lang Lang, who has been on tour in the country performs his magic on the final day of the festival, August 25.
